It's episode 24!

So, episode 24 is up! I had some issues getting it edited but as much as I want to blame Audacity for being terrible, I know it's my own fault for putting my hopes and dreams into a program that crashes without warning all the time. So just a friendly reminder to everyone out there: Save often. Especially when hit with a dragon's breath weapon.

In this episode we talk about Feats, Illusions, dying from falling damage, the main difference between Brits and Americans, and maybe there's some roleplaying advice thrown in there for good measure. As always, remember to rate/review/subscribe to us on iTunes or Stitcher or wherever you found us- and if you like the podcast but would love it to sound even better, then please check out our Paypal Donate button (which you can find by clicking the link in the upper right corner of the screen). And, also, we're always in need of questions to discuss! So if you have any of those, e-mail us at InterPartyConflict@gmail.com and we'll discuss your questions on the air.

Thanks, everyone!

Questions answered this episode:

1. How do you feel about how 5e handles feats? I haven't had a chance to read through all the options available. Do you think their benefits outweigh that of ability score improvements?

2. Illusions - how do they work, and when are they useful?

I mentioned a particular Order of the Stick comic- it turns out my details were a bit wrong, and I was combining this one and this one.

And while editing, my wife insisted I mention that I was wearing a shirt featuring the Russian rap star, Ill Mitch.

Episode 23: The Things We Do For Money

Episode 23 is up! I had a blast making this episode, and I think there's some really good stuff in there. We get down and dirty about party balance, picking the right character, turning yourself into a frog, and whether or not DMs should charge for running a game. (Semi-spoiler: I have strong feelings about that last one.) So give us a listen!

I also have a couple other podcasts to recommend, which will be linked below. Also, I want to remind you to use our donate button! Click in the upper-right corner of the blog here and there's a button where you can donate any amount of money, big or small, to help make the podcast better. And, if you got here by using the normal blog address (http://interpartyconflict.blogspot.com) then you need to get with the times! All the cool kids to go http://www.interpartyconflict. Sure it takes you to the same place, but it's cooler. At least that's what my parents tell me.

So, give us a listen. If you have any conflicting views with my own, or if you have any questions for the podcast or Dragon's Hoard items, go ahead and submit them to InterPartyConflict@gmail.com.

(Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention- this episode's Dragon's Hoard segment has a slightly altered version of the background music. Let me know if you like it or hate it.)

Questions answered this episode:

1. Is there an ideal balance for party composition in 5th edition?

2. How do I figure out what sort of character works for me?

3. What is your opinion on DMs who request payment for their services?

So come and check us out! Not a lot of admin on this one (I'm about to post another, more important message in a moment) so give us a listen!

Let's crack open a cold one, and listen to episode 21!

It's that time again, everyone! I have a few things I want to talk to you guys about. The first is a Youtube channel that Jeff and I are starting called Friend Quest! It's sort of a Let's Play channel where the two of us (or maybe sometimes just one of us) will be playing through fun games you might be interested in. Jeff just started uploading our run through Tower of Doom, one of the old D&D arcade games- we've got some others that we'll be putting up in the future and then we'll pick some other games to play too. So check it out if you can!

The other thing I wanted to mention is the possibility of trying to generate revenue from this podcast. I'm not sure how I want to do it yet, but I might start running ads, or maybe just something as unobtrusive as adding a Paypal Donate Button onto the blog here- I think ideally a Patreon would be the best end-goal, but at the moment we just don't have a big enough listenership to merit starting one just yet. So if any of you have any suggestions, or avenues that you think would be the least bothersome, then please let me know!

Anyway, with that aside, this was a fun episode. We talk about preparation, drinking RC cola, preparation, changing up your encounters, preparation, grinding up sentient beings, and preparation. If anyone out there has any items to submit to the Dragon's Hoard, or if you have questions you'd like us to discuss on-air, please submit them to InterPartyConflict@gmail.com!

Questions answered this episode:

1. When you plan a session, what are the things you always make sure to prepare, and what things do you plan on improvising? Do you have a "golden list of things" you always make sure you know before the session starts?

2. How do you make a dynamic combat encounter?

3. How should I speed up the pace of play? For that matter, should I even try to speed it up? Would that have a negative impact on the players and the campaign?
